the artist

My name is Candace Mahowald and I am the artist behind Treadle North Studio.  Weaver, painter, textile artist, yoga teacher, and lover of cooking.  I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fibers & Material Studies from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.

I take inspiration from the everyday moments that are here and gone in an instant.  Fine memories of taste and touch, a happy afternoon outside or a snuggle under a well-loved blanket.  Life is so fleeting, and I enjoy creating items of beauty that can be used for even the most mundane of tasks.
